no money fun for the unemployed
Aug. 30th, 2001 02:46 pmtired of cleaning the house? tired of tv and video games? nothing to do while waiting to submit your resume in RTF format and go to the next scheduled corporate rejection? Here are some fun things to do that all cost under $5.
- dumpster diving! (HINT! always wear gloves! the best ones are in closed garages (some fun getting to those!) behind used bookstores, hospitals and corporations, behind dormitories, on military bases, and any dumpster with interesting stuff piled outside it!)
- tie-die your old t-shirts. (buy two packs of RIT dye, put them in different tubs with hot water, tie your old shirts in knots, dip them in one, then another, then wash them off till no color comes off in the water. (Wear gloves.) Then wash them in a washer and dry them. Now you have NEW SHIRTS!
- create a walking tour of all the guerilla art (graffitti, sticker art, etc) in your area, make a pamphlet of the tour and distribute it to your friends, if you have any.
- make a catalogue of all the cats in your neighborhood, include a picture and a map with each cat's location marked on it (for advanced fun kidnap a cat, and wait for the reward poster to get put up, then go collect th' benjamins, baby! WARNING! Do not do this more than once a month in your neighborhood!)
- look for people in the phone book with famous or funny names (like Bruce Wayne for example) then anonymously mail them something cheap that has to do with their name, (like a BATMAN comic.(For advanced fun use envelopes with your old employer's letterhead on them!)
