i've spent the last hour or so digging through the internet to try and find the names of local goth bands influenced and styled like souixie and the banshees, then locating ans listening to mp3 by these same bands. my conclusion, is twofold:
1) there are a lot of these bands
2) when the music is good, it's never as good as siouxsie at her best. these bands all seemed to be influenced by her while she sucked.
(bonus conclusion)
3) when it isn't good, it really sucks
some of the bands:
Jane Sieberry
Switchblade Symphony (not bad)
Faith and Disease
Caterwaul
in other news, i'm damn, damn, thirsty.
in further other news, at the bookstore today, i saw that they are republishing the tintin series as 10 or so three-in-one smaller hardbacks. if anyone is super really rich and wants to buy me gift that i'll appreciate forever, well, i have to tell you that i simply love tintin.
