Amid the excitement over the defeat of all of Schwartzenegger's special election ballot propositions, those of you reading the national news may have missed the fact than San Francisco has passed a ban on owning, possessing, manufacturing, or transporting a handgun within city limits.

So after January (actually, after the April grace period) only outlaws will have handguns in San Francisco (well, them and the police, certain security gaurds, and active duty military.)
Naturally, it will be challenged by the NRA, and (on channel 5 news last night) the Mayor of San Francisco called the issue symbolic, and essentially proclaimed it doomed, he also said he would vote for it and defend it if it passed.
Just thought it was interesting.
