Of the places we went in Rome, this was one of the best, so when an old co-worker tweeted with a status indicating that she was in Rome, I couldn't resist a restaurant recommendation.
downstairs it smells like the neighbors are making...

burnt cork sandwiches. or something. I'm not sure it is an improvement over the normal diet, which appears to be a "cheesesteak from the depths of hell" or perhaps a "Cheesesteak cheesecake." Whatever, the concept of slowly browning the onions as opposed to charring them, seems to be lost. Usually our apartment fills with the hellish reek of burnt onions about once per week. The stink right now is very bad, i may need to burn some incense.

i have cleaned the living room (those of you that know me know that this is a pretty big thing for me.) i only do this when incredibly bored or incredibly angry. I'm not angry, and i'm not really bored, but the cat was looking at me funny. now he rolls around on the floor, which is preferrable.

i am contemplating inviting dagoski and his wife michelle over for dinner and the film "Bad Taste" (Not necessarily at the same time, mind you, anyone who has seen Peter Jackson's filmmaking debut (best described as, pub drinking buddies waste perfectly good beer money making VERY bad film,) will tell you that eating while viewing is only for the iron of will and gut.) The menu? Barring allergies to any and all of the ingredients, Artichoke heart pasta with onions and capers.

backup plan: veggie burritos. backup backup plan, tomato pasta with braised garlicky spinach. backup backup backup plan: a can of pinto beans and some soda. (optionally garnished with basil and thyme.)

i will clean the kitchen before cooking anything in it. i will even wash my hands.

i am very tired. today i got up and bought groceries, i bought all kinds of bad things, and suprisingly, some good things too. now i have lots of components for modular meals, mostly sandwiches, but nothing for a large smorgasbord or a "Square meal" like mystery likes.

Mystery has the internet now, plus she is calling on the phone. she enjoys italy, especially rome. she likes the italian techno that taxi drivers play, she had gelato (tiara misu flavored!) which was delicious, and a potato pizza which was pretty good. She likes the San Peligrino Bitter orange sodas, and the school is working her too hard, and gives her her time off during the siesta, when nothing is open. She shuld be waking up any minute, to get ready for class.
