The House Always Wins
Nov. 3rd, 2011 12:54 am- Ср, 16:50: RT @theremina: "Different religions are different doors to the same house. Sometimes I think the house exists, and sometimes I don’t." -Steve Jobs
Just to be fair, sometimes scientific theory is another door to the same house.
I would argue that science, (as a philosophy,) has the ultimate goal of determining if the house exists, while most religions expect you to take the house as a logical extension of the door.
Of course, we (meaning us higher primates) we very probably built the door, expecting it to somehow attach to a house. The door is a signifier of a house we'd like to live in. Does the house exist? I don't really know.
Kind of like building wardrobes from apple trees and then continually opening them, expecting someone to have filled them with Narnia behind our backs.
