Microsoft's Outlook Program ...
Jun. 1st, 2006 02:32 pm... Is acting up lately.
Like, for example, yesterday, I tried to move one meeting from a series from one room to another. Outlook kept asking me if I was "sure." Of course, I'm sure! Outlook moved the meeting, but I could tell it wasn't happy about it. Outlook is just lazy and doesn't like to work. I KNOW that it lets that SPAM through on purpose, just because it is LAZY LAZY LAZY.
Anyhow, the lazy thing is just one of the more recent examples. There have been indications of problems before. It's also a dirty little snitch. I have definitive PROOF that Outlook is reading my mail. This little red or green wiggly line pops up after I type some words, and if I right click it, Outlook offers spelling hints, LIKE I'M SUPPOSED TO IGNORE ITS SPYING BECAUSE IT'S PRETENDING TO BE HELPFUL? You got CAUGHT, Outlook, just admit it and slink away! But NO! And to add insult to injury, all the words it chooses as "suggestions" are these nasty little side comments. I typed in "hand" as "hynd" and Outlook had the nerve to suggest that I REALLY wanted to type "Hyena." See? Not only is it waiting to make me feel small about spelling mistakes, (No one likes a KNOW IT ALL, Outlook,) but it wants to make me CRY on top of it (AND I think it's trying to TRICK ME into calling people "Hyena.")
And THEN, a little later, I wanted to go to the fridge to get a soda out that I had put in there earlier, and it was GONE. I went back to my desk and Outlook was all innocent, like "What? THIRSTY MUCH?"
But the LAST STRAW happened earlier today. Sometimes I play this fun game with messages that people send to me. If the thing they ask me to do is something that I don't want to do, as a little fun thing, I hit "Reply to All" and type in a funny response, kind of like "Kiss my big ole butt, you big ole butt-hat," and then I highlight all that stuff and delete it and type in the real reply, except THIS MORNING, Outlook SENT the email before I got to that point.
At my next job, if they say I have to work with Outlook, I'm telling them NO THANKS, cause Outlook is just unreasonable and vindictive.
