will you just look at this story!

now i'm willing to give up some liberties in order to feel more secure, but this example is simply ridiculous. it's like an exaggerated example from a left wing pot-paranoia scenario. this guy wasn't hauling a machine gun, or 4 sticks of dynamite, or a copy of the anarchist's cookbook, or a leaky envelope, or 12 vials of golden fluid ala 12 monkeys, but a simple collection of ideas. a fantasy. a tale. it is not the place of the national guard to ask "why are you reading this?" if the person consents to a search and the book and the reader come up clean, then it's not thier place to even raise an eyebrow at the content of the paperback. i'm starting to get scared here. I was in the military, and i know that very few of the active duty personnel i ever met were fit to try and preserve or respect my civil liberties.
