Marvin POV shot.
Dec. 10th, 2007 07:11 amOur cat, Marvin, was over by the window the other day, making frantic little "yeek-yeek" sounds. He does this when he's "Stalking" something. Lots of cats I've owned do this, make these little eeking noises while they stalk things, excitement completely winning out over stealth. I went over with the camera and took this pic. This is the plaintive "let me onto the balcony, before it's too late!" look:

He was scoping out a dove sitting on the phone wire. This is taken from his point of view.

He thinks he'd be able to tackle one of these city chickens. He's fooling himself. He's an indoor cat. The few times he's escaped into the open, we've found him cowering beside the front door after a few moments, trying to get back in. If you play "chase" with him around the house, he lasts for a minute or so, and then lies on his side, submissive. "Go ahead, rub me, if that's what you do, just don't make me exercise any more."
A dove would give him a run for his money, I think.
