Mar. 10th, 2006 09:02 amI used to think that the last two elections had to be fixed, because Americans just couldn't be that stupid as a whole.
These three polls have convinced me otherwise.

Among the conclusions, 47% of Americans do not believe that apes and man have a common ancestor and 48% think that evolution is unsupported by the fossil record. This is like discovering that 47% of those polled believe that the sun revolves around the earth or that the earth is flat.
The problem I think, is that a lot of these people see evolution and creationism as theories that are at odds with one another, and they fear that they will go to hell if they say that evolution is even remotely possible. But in my opinion, there is nothing in the bible to contradict the theories of evolution.
