Mr. Sleepy-Smiley Guy
Apr. 7th, 2005 11:42 amI hate Mr. Sleepy-Smiley Guy.
I don't know about you, but there are whole classes of people that I tend to dislike on sight. Perhaps it is prejudice, perhaps it is a response to stimulus, (eg: Our cat used to be fine with other cats until one bit his tail. Now he is wary of cats, and mindful of his tail,) perhaps they are the same thing? Although I tend to think that prejudice isn't based on any evidence, just heresy. You be the judge, you will any way, Judgy McJudge. (Interesting idiom, that "Blanky McBlank" thing. Does it come from Ally McBeal?)
Anyhow, Mr. Sleepy-Smiley Guy is an example of the type of person I tend not to like on sight. Mr. Sleepy-Smiley Guy has eyes that are always half closed, like he can't be bothered to stay awake enough to experience life, and he has a closed mouth grin, all the time. Sometimes Mr. Sleepy-Smiley Guy has perpetually flushed cheeks, which is how you can tell that he's angry, or getting ready to be mean to you. He thinks everything is amusing, but in a mean way, and he's smug about everything. Mr. Sleepy Smiley Guy is going to college, but he's always on break. Spring break, or taking a sabbatical in Cancun, etc. He's well groomed in an unconscious way that betrays hours of narcissism, and the child of wealth. I've never met an old Mr. Sleepy-Smiley Guy. He always seems to be twenty-one. Perhaps life tends to "wake up" Mr. Sleepy-Smiley Guy, at which point he turns into George W. Bush?
