conquistadors - setback the second
Jun. 4th, 2001 10:33 amwhen i came in yesterday to look at th state of the new prints, i found that they were not dry, meaning another day would be lost. plus the shop was far too crowded to print any more, and latecomers had burnt up all the supplies. (i have stashed supplies in my locker, having learned long ago that it's awful to run out of red with 20 prints down and 20 to go.) but still, the presses were backed way up... so no second series, and no second book.
fine.
i'll cut my losses, a vision of a series of five has turned into a one-shot. if it comes out nice i'll call it an artists's proof perhaps, and print it again in the future.
so when i came in this morning, the ink had dried sufficiently well, and i ran over here to the computer center and ran the pages through the laser printer.
it took a half hour. anticlimactic after the three days of trial and error that i've been through.
so, i'm all done with the pages, now all i need to do is construct the concertina structure, make the hardbound cover, sew the book together, paste the endpapers in place and i'm done. oh yeah, and make no mistakes in the process.
piece of cake.
