I opened a bag of Wasabi chips.
There was one of those little freshness bags inside, and for a second I could swear that printed on the packet, it said:

"Soul: Do Not Eat."

Certainly good advice.

I've been having this problem a lot lately. I can not think of the words for simple things, I can feel the word in my head, out of reach, and I will sit and say "Aw, you know, one of those THINGS. With the handle." And the person I'm with will say, "You mean, Sarah Jessica Parker?" and I will say "Yeah."

I will think of one word and type another, usually an actual english word that escapes spellcheck. And now lately I will look at things and they will say something odd, forcing a doubletake. Last night I was driving home, and on the side of the Philadelphia Free Library it said:

"Philadelphia False Library."

And always this stuff makes some kind of weird sense.
This post went up on MetaFilter last night, and since I have no Metafilter ID, I can't post to rebut. The contention of the post, and of this website, is that the cover of an out-of-print book by John Kerry's Vietnam Veterans Against the War, "mocks" the Iwo Jima flag raising:

Note that John Kerry appears on the cover in name only.

Also note the boom mike in the forefront of the Kerry Shot. Hardly the kind of thing you'd see in a staged propaganda pic, like the Iwo Jima flag raising, for example.

Note these other two shots, clearly indicating that this was part of a procession or parade, where several Veterans were carrying a HUGE flag, and that this still is of two or three Vets attempting to wave this flag while singing or chanting. The other shots show them grouped similarly but hardly in a mocking position. Any resemblance, (and I will admit that the pic brings it to mind) is probably more the result of a photo editor noticing the similarities and deciding on the pic for it's irony.

I hate this type of childish, Second grade recess, out-of-context attack from someone who is fishing for a reason to defend their ex-cokehead, AWOL failure. Whatever you want to say about John Kerry, at least remember this, HE WAITED UNTIL HE WAS OUT OF THE SERVICE TO DISGRACE HIMSELF. And by the way, John Kerry's contribution to the book? His testimony before congress. Nothing shocking or alarming that is not already in the public record, except for maybe, some people might actually read it now that it is posted for free on a conservative site. (Not for long though, the copyright is still held by Kerry. I give it till the end of the week before his lawyers force the removal of the content.)
